Shillong,June 15: The court of the Special Judge (NDPS Act) has convicted two accused involved in a drug trafficking case in 2013.
“The court of the Special Judge (NDPS Act), N.A. Khan found the accused Sangte Paite and Lalmingliana guilty and were convicted for the offence U/S 22(C) of the NDPS Act, 1985,” East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger said in a statement.
Paite and Lalmingliana were arrested by police while conducting a checking at IIM junction, Nongthymmai on February 22, 2013.
During the search, 2178.72 gms of psychotropic drugs-Spasmo proxyvon were found and seized from their possession, he said.
A case was registered with the Rynjah police station and it was investigated by the then Sub-Inspector Simseng A Sangma who was the in-charge of the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF), East Khasi Hills.
