Shillong, July 16: The court of First Class Judicial Magistrate DKK Mihsill has reserved the order on the bail plea of Silome James, a co-accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case.
Advocate Devesh Sharma from Indore represented James for bail on Wednesday. Sharma hoped that his client would get bail as the trial is yet to start.
James was not produced physically from Shillong jail, but his production was via video conference. Assistant Public
Prosecutor Tushar Chanda opposed the bail, citing valid grounds. The police had arrested James for his alleged involvement in the case since he had destroyed evidence.
A country-made pistol, jewellery, and cash were recovered from him.
Lokendra Tomar, a co-accused in the case, had leased out his flat to James.
Sonam Raghuvanshi had stayed in the flat after fleeing from Shillong.
Earlier, on July 9, Tomar and the security guard, Balbir Ahirbar, secured bail after their judicial custody ended.
