Shillong, June 16: Eight more deaths and 495 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours in the state.
The day’s recoveries are 453.

The deaths due to Covid till date is 758 and East Khasi Hills alone registered 587 deaths. The total active cases are 4464.
Vaccination
The state government has initiated vaccination drive on Wednesday at Iewduh ahead of its partial reopening on Friday.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma tweeted that initiatives like vaccination drive and awareness were carried out at Iewduh by doctors to shopkeepers and hawkers.
The office of Syiem of Hima Mylliem supported the cause.
