Shillong, Sept 11: The state cabinet on Thursday cleared the way for the outgoing Chief Secretary, DP Wahlang, to assume charge as the Chairman of the Meghalaya State Food Commission.
Wahlang will be retiring on September 30.

Dr M Tyngkan will be a member of the commission.
Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said, “A committee constituted by the government has proposed the name of DP Wahlang IAS to be appointed as chairperson post his superannuation as Chairperson of the Commission and Dr Meshwa Tyngkan retired officer as member of the Commission.So these two names were proposed and the cabinet today has accepted both the proposals”.
