Shillong, July 21: Power Minister AT Mondal admitted the concerns regarding the cybersecurity threat in power sector.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mondal said Operation Sindoor or not, the cybersecurity threat regarding the power sector has been felt for quite some time. “The Government of India has been emphasising that we should have our cybersecurity system. Technologically, it is sophisticated, and we need to be supported technically and financially by the Centre,” he said.

According to Mondal, the cybersecurity threat is very serious as the transmission lines depend on the software. “And wherever there is software, there are chances of cyber attacks”, he added.
