Shillong, June16: The East Jaintia Hills District Administration has asked the relatives to come forward and identify the retrieved body of one of the miners trapped in Krem Ule, East Jaintia Hills.
The navy team assisted by the NDRF, SDRF, Fire Service and personnel from the district administration retrieved the unidentified body from the main shaft on Wednesday.
“Inquest has been conducted by the executive magistrate at the spot and the body was further transported to Khliehriat morgue for post mortem. Relatives have been informed to come forward to identify the retrieved body”, the deputy commissioner said.
The dewatering process has resumed after the navy operation.
Earlier, the rescue teams of NDRF and SDRF verified the level of the water before resuming the dewatering process and found it risen by forty feet as no dewatering process took place during the navy operation.
“After the navy operations on Tuesday, dewatering resumed throughout the evening and towards late night around 2.16 lakh liters of water have been pumped out from the main shaft and about 4.50 lakh liters from the second shaft.
