Shillong, July 23: A delegation comprising NGOs led by FKJGP president Pritam Areng on Tuesday met East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner RM Kurbah and demanded a magisterial probe into the death of Diana Marak.
Diana was found hanging at Shillong polytechnic hostel at Mawlai in the early hours on May 6.
The 24-year-old victim from Dakopgre, Tura, was pursuing 4th semester civil engineering.
According to the letter submitted by the delegation, there were burnt marks besides injuries on the body of Diana.
Moreover, they also alleged that there were incidents of harassment against her by her fellow students and she was mentally disturbed on the eve of the alleged suicide the next day.
Pritam said that the authorities gave the postmortem report to the relatives only after two weeks.
Besides, the crucial histopathology was not carried out.
