According to the speaker, the election of the new deputy speaker will be held on Friday.

Timothy said the Chief Minister spoke to him at 11 pm on Sunday to resign from the post.

” I don’t have any further comment on that because I have tendered my resignation as per direction of party high command and what I am asked to do I have done it. So it depends on the wisdom of the CM whether he asked me to sit somewhere or go somewhere that also I don’t know,” he said.

Shira said his commitment to party discipline, stating that as a party man, he could not refuse the chief minister’s request.

“I have full trust in the chief minister. I cannot say no because he is my favourite chief minister,” he said.

Answering another query, Shira said, “No I am not angry. I am quite satisfied with the decision.

To a question whether he will be included in the cabinet after a reshuffle, Shira said he was not sure as such decisions are at the chief minister’s discretion.

“I don’t know as that also is the prerogative of the CM. I don’t know whether I will be accomodated in the cabinet or I will be thrown away or I will be sent somewhere else,” he added.

“I don’t know whom they will nominate as deputy speaker, it is not within my knowledge. Since I don’t know, I won’t give any suggestion,” Shira said.
