DGP applies for one-week casual leave
Shillong, Sept 7: Meghalaya DGP R Chandranathan has applied for seven days of casual leave and is awaiting nod from the Chief Secretary.
A government source said on Tuesday that his leave application has nothing to do with the current law and order situation following the killing of former HNLC leader Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew.

“It was for personal affairs,” the source added.
Earlier, Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said that though the DGP had applied for leave due to personal reasons, the file has not come to him.
The home minister also did not know the number of days of leave.
In his absence, the senior most police official will look after the current duties.
