A notification issued on February 11 said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Home Affairs ‘for extension in service of Idashisha Nongrang, Director General of Police, Meghalaya, for a period of 6 months beyond 19.05.2026, in relaxation of Rule 16(1) of AIS (DCRB) Rules, 1958, as a special case in public interest’.
