Shillong, July 25: DGP LR Bishnoi said the police have credible information about the conspiracy behind the move to attack Chief Minister Conrad Sangma during the Tura violence on July 23.
The violence by mob was when the chief minister was holding a meeting with the NGOs to discuss the reservation roster and winter capital at the CM’s office in Tura
Addressing a press conference at the police headquarters here on Tuesday, the DGP said that the violence was pre-planned to target the chief minister physically.
Though the DGP did not specifically mention the role of political parties, a list released by the West Garo Hills police chief had mentioned that the arrested people belonged to the BJP and the TMC.
The DGP said cash and liquor were distributed on July 23 by some persons to facilitate violence in Tura.
