Shillong, July 15: All commercial vehicle owners will have to display essential information about their drivers, including license details, contact information, name, and address.
Briefing reporters after a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Transport Sniawbhalang Dhar, Government spokesperson and cabinet minister Paul Lyngdoh said the purpose is to ensure safety and security of customers.

“The primary objective of this initiative is to minimise the possibility of criminal activities using commercial vehicles and to upscale the sense of security among passengers” Lyngdoh said.
