Do your home work, James tells AITC

Shillong, Oct 10: NPP leader James Sangma has asked the opposition All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) to do its homework before accusing his party of failing to file its election expenditure for the 2018 Assembly elections.

The AITC had also accused the NPP for projecting less value of assets of NPP  buildings in Shillong, Tura, and Imphal where the  party offices are located.

Accirding to AITC national spokesperson Saket Gokhale, the value shown is worth only Rs 69.66 lakh whereas land value in parts of Shillong runs into crores of rupees.

“I think they should go and do their homework. It would be good for people of that stature or that level of leadership to do their homework. Without doing their homework and giving statements like these it is very unprofessional,” James told reporters.

James also denied that his party violated the Supreme Court order by failing to file its election expenditure report for the 2018 Assembly elections.

He said the party followed every rule that has been set by the ECI.

“We are very aware of our responsibility as an organisation as to what we are supposed to do and not supposed to do and we are very careful about these compliances,” he said.
