Shillong, June 11: A drug peddler was held in East Jaintia Hills on Saturday.
According to the police, based on credible information that a drug peddler identified as Sorif Uddin is proceeding from Kalain to Khliehriat and carrying with him a consignment of illegal contraband, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) team and staff of Lumshnong PS put up a naka near Lumshnong PS and the person was detained and 6 soap cases containing suspected heroin were recovered from his possession. The total net weight was found to be 63.12 gm.

A case was registered at Lumshnong PS and further investigation is on to trace the forward and backward linkages of the accused.
