Shillong, May 3: Police arrested three drug peddlers, on Friday.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Ri Bhoi SP Vivekanand Singh Rathore said that based on a credible information that a drugs supplier identified as Wellborn Khongjoh alias Bull is on his way from Nongpoh to Shillong along with two more drug peddlers with suspected contrabands and planning to sell the same to unknown drug peddlers/consumer,s a drug law enforcement operation was conducted by a team of Ri-Bhoi police at Umsning last night. During the operation, around 9.45 pm, one Maruti Baleno car bearing Registration No. ML-05AB-9902 proceeding from Nongpoh towards Shillong side was intercepted at NH-06 Guwahati-Shillong lane at Nongthymmai junction. On checking the car and the body of three occupants Wellborn Khongjoh s/o Lasubon Khongjoh r/o Kynjoin Umran, Ri Bhoi District, Fedrick Kharkrang, s/o Dolma Kharkrang, r/o Shangbangla, Ri Bhoi District, and Pascal Kharkrang, s/o (L) Lamphrang Khyriem, r/o Shangbangla, around 10.9 gram of suspected heroin was recovered.
