Shillong, Aug 26: Education department has issued show-cause notices to teachers who joined NPP recently without resigning from their respective posts.
The government has already banned it’s staff from taking part in elections without resigning from their posts.
A whistle blower, who does not wish to be named, highlighted that residents from South West Garo Hills -Rajdeep Saha, Assistant Teacher, Palpara Government Girls’ LP School, Subankar Paul , Assistant Teacher, Palpara Government Girls’ LP School, Ranjan Das, Head Teacher Daspara Adhoc LP School and Praneshwar Das, peon Mahendraganj AR College besides Jibon Krishna Paul from the Meghalaya police, joined the NPP.
When contacted, education director Ambrose Marak said show-cause notices were issued to the teachers in this regard.
However, the fate of the peon of Mahendraganj college and the police man is yet to be known.
