Shillong, April 23: The Department of Education said on Wednesday that 11858 out of 13,719 pending beneficiaries of post matric scholarships have had their payment files successfully generated and submitted to the bank for processing.
In a statement issued here, the commissioner and secretary, education Vijay Mantri said the scholarships are for ST students for the academic year 2023-24.
“For the remaining 1,861 beneficiaries, discrepancies in Aadhaar-bank account linkage have been identified. To address this, an SMS notification was sent to the affected students on April 22, requesting them to complete the necessary verification process within 15 days to facilitate the release of their scholarships. In case of any query, please dial CM CONNECT helpline number ‘1971’ or ‘18003456851’ or Department numbers 7005037347/9077574956”, the official added.
