Shillong, Oct 15: The chief electoral officer, BDR Tiwari assured action against misuse of government machinery, if any, during the Gambegre bypoll scheduled for November 13.
Speaking to reporters, Tiwari said the model code of conduct has come into force in the entire West Garo Hills district with immediate effect after the announcement of election date.

He said adequate security arrangements will be made for the bypoll.
