Shillong,July 27: With no commitment from the government on taking over the I08 emergency service, the EMRI workers have decided to carry on with the protest.
The president of EMRI workers’ union, Microlina Syiemlieh (in picture) said the Health Minister James Sangma did not give any assurance on taking over of emergency service during their meeting with him.

Later, the general body meeting of the association decided to carry on with the protest.
According to the union, the minister alone could not decide anything and hence, the workers wanted the cabinet to decide on the matter.
