Enhanced rainfall till June 7

Shillong, June 4: Southwest Monsoon covered the entire North East India on Friday.

The IMD predicted enhanced rainfall activity over Meghalaya during June 3 to 7.

According to a statement, the weather system indicated that Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of northwest and west central Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of northeast and some parts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal &Sikkim, on June 3.

The east west trough now runs from the above cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh to Nagaland across Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Assam at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

The north-south trough now runs roughly along Long. 90°E & to north of Lat. 22°N at 3.1 km above mean sea level.

A cyclonic circulation lies over north coastal Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal and northwest Bay of Bengal between 5.8 km & 7.6 Km above mean sea level.
