FIR against company for non-functional JJM project

Shillong, April 8: The A·chik State Peoples’ Front (ASPF), Garobadha Regional Unit, filed a First Information Report (FIR) against BAC Infratech Pvt Ltd on March 28, citing negligence and non-functioning of JJM Scheme in Balapara, South West Garo Hills.
In response to the complaint, an inquiry has been initiated on April 8,  and the investigation is on.
The FIR pointed out the following points 

1. Criminal negligence-failure to ensure the operation of the JJM project, despite the pipeline being connected.

2. Breach of public welfare commitment by way of abandoning the project after partial work depriving villagers of clean drinking water.

3. Misuse of government funds and accepting a contract without delivering the promised services.

4. Public endangerment forcing the community to rely on unsafe water sources, leading to potential health hazards.

5. Failure to address grievances and repeatedly ignoring complaints and requests from the affected villagers.

Request for legal action:

1. Immediate registration of the FIR and investigation into why the water supply is not functional.

2. Summoning of BAC Infratech Pvt. Ltd. representatives for an explanation of the non operational water supply.

3. Inspection of the project to assess why the system remains non-functional despite the pipeline connection.

4. Strict legal action against the company for failing to complete the project as per government guidelines.

5. Immediate intervention to make the water supply functional and provide relief to the villagers.l
