Shillong, Oct 26: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Saturday recovered the body of a 50-year-old man from the Umkhein river at Jaroit village in East Khasi Hills District.
The SDRF got into action after the man, identified as Kellshon Shadap of Pdengshnong, went missing while fishing in the river.

The rescue team conducted a search using a barbed wire, and after about half an hour of the search operation, SDRF jawans T Khongstia and I Lapasam fished the body out of the water.
