Shillong, July 8: Police made five arrests in connection with the assault incident involving two groups in Laitumkrah.
East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtynger confirmed the development.

The lower court on Saturday sent the accused to police custody for 5 days.
The assault incident had led to chaos and arson in Laitumkrah police station on June 7 wee hours.
A police official, who refused to divulge the names of the accused, said the five persons were arrested only for the assault incident following the drunken brawl prior to the arson case.
The arrested are three from one group and two from another group who had clashed over the passage of vehicles on July 6 night near the directorate of health services.
