Shillong, Jan 20: Former Meghalaya DGP WR Marbaniang (75) passed away here on Tuesday.
Marbaniang was admitted to Super Care hospital on Friday last due to an ailment, and he passed away at the hospital on Tuesday, the relatives said.

His tenure as the state DGP was from January 31, 2005 till March 21,2007 before serving the Meghalaya police in various positions.
He is survived by wife Enid Richmond Basaiawmoit, son, William Richmond Basaiawmoit of Shillong Chamber Choir, daughter Lorina Richmond Basaiawmoit, daughter-in-law and son-in-law.
