Four owners of coke oven plants in Shallang sent to judicial custody
Shillong, June 27: Four owners of coke oven plants in Shallang were sent to judicial custody on Tuesday after their arrests on Monday.
A police official said that In connection with illegal coke factory case vide Shallang PS Case No.39(12)2022, four more persons were arrested.
Police had on June 15 arrested Youdishtra Bhama of Bongaon, Beltola, Guwahati for running a coke oven factory in Shallang.
The four arrested are Ashish Arya (32), son of Anil Arya, a resident of Flat No. C04, Silver Height Apartment, Basisthapur Bye-Lane No 3, Guwahati, Kamrup, Assam, Yaman Bansal (28), son of Kuldeep Kumar Bansal, a resident of H.No 5 Krishna Path ,B.R. Path Bhetapara Road, Beltola Tiniali Guwahati,Kamrup, Khrawbok Rongrin, husband of Tyngshainhun Sohbar, a resident of Sohbar A, Shallang and Hopeful Nongtdu,son of Gino Pala a resident of Rymbai Synrang Shahkhain, East Jaintia Hills.
The High Court had asked the government to take action against the owners of illegal coke factories.
