The alliance issue will be decided after the Shillong Lok Sabha by-election, UDP general secretary and leader of opposition in the KHADC Titosstarwell Chyne said on Tuesday.

When asked about the relevance of RDA,  Chyne said both parties will hold a joint meeting to clear any misunderstandings and take a call on continuing or ending the partnership.
“Later, when we have a joint meeting between HSPDP and UDP, maybe after the Shillong Lok Sabha by-election, we will sit across the table and sort out if there are any misunderstandings. We will then decide whether we will continue or discontinue,” Chyne said.
The UDP leader also noted that the HSPDP has not communicated its position in writing, but has made a public statement that it will not support the UDP candidate in the upcoming bypoll.
“They have not given us anything in writing, but they have declared publicly in their statement that they will not support anyone,” Chyne added.
