Gaza hospitals to stop working if fuel not delivered within 2 days
Gaza, Nov 14 (UNI): All the remaining hospitals in the Gaza Strip that still provide services may stop working if fuel is not delivered within two days, Palestinian Health Minister Mai al-Kaila said on Tuesday.
“If fuel is not delivered within 48 hours, all hospitals in the Gaza Strip will stop their work. At the moment, 25 hospitals have stopped providing services due to the lack of fuel or shelling, there are only 10 working hospitals left,” the minister told the Al Arabiya broadcaster.
The largest hospital in the Gaza Strip — Al Shifa Hospital — is surrounded by Israeli troops, the minister added.
“The Al Shifa medical complex is completely surrounded by Israeli tanks and soldiers… The decision to evacuate the Al Shifa complex was made by the hospital administration, this is a difficult issue, since a large number of wounded are in the complex, and many of them are on artificial life support, if this system stops, they will immediately die,” the minister said.
