Shillong, Sept 26: The state government has appointed additional chief secretary Shakil P Ahmed as the new Chief Secretary.
A notification issued on Friday by commissioner & secretary, personnel department, CVD Diengdoh said, “Dr. Shakil P. Ahammed, IAS (RR: 1995), Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Home (Police), Home (Political), Water Resources Departments, Additional Chief Secretary, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Chairman, Board of Revenue is posted as Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya with effect from the date of superannuation of Shri D.P. Wahlang, IAS (RR: 1993) Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya i.e., on 30th September, 2025. On assumption of charge as Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Dr. Shakil P. Ahammed, IAS (RR: 1995) shall also function as State Vigilance Commissioner, Meghalaya”.
