Shillong, Sept 29: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of home Prestone Tynsong chaired a meeting with the officials of the BSF and the state police to discuss the infiltration issue.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday( Sept 29), Tynsong said a direction was issued to the police and the BSF to keep vigil in the border to prevent the entry of those from Bangladesh.

According to Prestone, because of unrest in Bangladesh, people from the neighbouring country are moving out.
The porous nature of the border in East Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills add to the problem.of infiltration.
There are also reports about agents facilitating the movement of infiltrators, and this means that they (agents) don’t understand the bigger picture, Tynsong added.
