
Shillong, Aug 8:The state government is exploring another alternative site near Anjalee here to accommodate the Harijan Colony residents.The earlier plan was to accommodate the residents on the defence land near Harijan Colony.

Wahlang said a separate paper on Meghalaya will be introduced, focusing on the state’s culture, history, and plans for development in the MCS examinations.
The reform aims to ensure a level playing field for all candidates, eliminating any advantage or disadvantage due to the choice of optional subjects.
He pointed out that in the last MCS exams, candidates who appeared in Geography outscored those from other subjects like Commerce and English.
Job reservation report
Wahlang said the review and summarisation of the recommendations of the Expert Committee on the State Job Reservation are currently underway.
He said the government is committed to meeting the August 31 deadline of submitting his report to the state government.
