The minister said the government has not given any deadline to complete the task.

According to Ampareen, almost all the political parties suggested the formation of an expert committee to review the reservation policy and the decision of the government was not based on the opinion of any single political party.

She said two political parties were in favour of status quo on reservation policy.

Ampareen Committee to continue

According to the minister, her committee will not be disbanded as its task is yet to be completed.

Initially, the committee focused on roster system and later discussion on reservation was added as new terms of reference.

“Our job is to get the suggestions and views of the political parties within three weeks and the same will be submitted to the government”, she said.

Ampareen said the members of the political parties who took part in the meeting on May 31 will have to submit their statements supported by expert legal views.

The committee will also prepare the minutes of the meeting held on May 31.

Uncertainty over recruitment

The government has already stopped all recruitments and declaration of results till there is clarity on roster system.

The state government is yet to decide as to when the recruitment and the declaration of results can resume.

Ampareen said the government will have to follow the roster system for the implementation of reservation policy.
