Shillong, Aug 22: The government is working on relocation of hawkers in Laitumkhrah.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Cabinet Minister and East Shillong legislator Ampareen Lyngdoh said that the government’s decision to relocate hawkers will lead to a Khyndailad-look in the streets of Laitumkhrah.
Lyngdoh said the government will handle the situation with care and caution, and that the goal is to find a positive solution that benefits all parties involved.
“And government needs to remember that judicial intervention is a stone throw distance away from citizens. We will handle this cautiously with all care. We will study situations. I hope that we will once again be positive and I hope that we will soon see a Police Bazaar Khyndailad look in the streets of Laitumkhrah,” the minister said.
