Govt ready to offer safe passage to HNLC for peace talks: HNYF leader

Shillong, July 19: The Centre and the state  have agreed to provide safe passage for the leaders of HNLC to come to the negotiating table to speed up the peace process.

Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) president and representative of the HNLC, Sadon K Blah told reporters on Tuesday that three rounds of meetings were held by HNLC with the state government appointed interlocutor and retired IAS officer Peter S Dkhar.


“After the meeting, the central and state governments have agreed to grant a safe passage to the leaders of the HNLC, who are to be engaged in the talks for the peace process, so that they can come and go and may be stationed themselves within the territory of India,” he said.
