Shillong, Feb 14: The state government removed East Jaintia Hills SP Vikash Kumar on Saturday.
The SP Anti-Narcotics Task Force(ANTF), Pankaj Kumar Rasgania, will be the new SP of the district, while Vikash will head the ANTF.

Vikash was appointed only a few months back, and his removal is at a time when several enquiries were still on regarding the Mynsngat-Thangsko coal mine tragedy on February 5.
Earlier, the High Court of Meghalaya had summoned both the SP and the DC, but did not order their removal.
