Shillong, Feb 26: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed the Assembly on Monday that the government is targetting 5.5 lakh jobs in five years.
In reply to a question by Gabriel Wahlang ( Cong ), the chief minister said that various schemes and programmes of the government will help to achieve the target.

They are MGNREGS, CM-Elevate, Prime Program, FOCUS, FOCUS+, Mission Mode Programs in Agriculture, Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project, Chief Minister’s Youth Center, National Rural Livelihood Mission and Skills Meghalaya
In reply to supplementary questions on the number of registered unemployed persons and the number of consultants, the chief minister said the details are not available with him.
