Shillong, March 6: The SSA teachers who met the education department officials on Tuesday said that the government is planning to merge SSA and goverment teachers under one category.
Rationalisation of schools was also discussed, the spokesperson Aristotle Rymbai said adding that the government will allow those who passed diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) in 18 months to apply for jobs.

The representatives of Meghalaya SSA School Association, All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers Association and All Meghalaya 4th Teachers Association held discussion with the education officials.
