
Shillong, Aug 17: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday (Aug 15) laid the foundation stone for Rs 140 crore upgradation of the Weiloi–Mawkyrwat–Rangthong road in South West Khasi Hills, funded from the state scheme.
This is more than a road, it is a growth corridor that will strengthen access to markets, healthcare and education while opening new opportunities in tourism, agriculture and trade, the chief minister said

.Since 2018, over Rs 850 crore of projects have been implemented in South West Khasi Hills, with total commitment nearing Rs 990 crore.
“Meghalaya is beyond Shillong. Our commitment is clear: no district, village or community should be left behind. Development must reach every nook and corner of our state”, Conrad said.
