Guv unhappy with Tura, Shillong incidents

Shillong, July 30: Governor Phagu Chauhan has expressed displeasure over the violent incident in Tura and the law and order issues in the city.

An official with the Raj Bhavan said on Sunday that the governor spoke to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma seeking details about the July 24 violence in Tura.

The official also added that the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner RM Kurbah and the SP Sylvester Nongtynger were summoned following the sporadic law and order issues in the city, the most recent being the assault incident in Mahadevkhola.

The governor is monitoring the situation in the state, the official added.
