HANM seeks help of Assam CM, NE MPs on ILP, language & border

Shillong, Nov 17: The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) will seek an appointment with Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Members of Parliament (MPs) of the North East for their support on the three long pending demands.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, HANM president Lamphrang Kharbani said the three demands include implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP), inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India and to resolve the border dispute with neighbouring Assam.

A HANM delegation recently protested in New Delhi for these issues.
