Shillong, Aug 18: Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) has threatened to move the NGT and the High Court against Dhar construction company for using stones from the Umiam river bed for road construction work in Mawhati.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, HANM leader Balwan Nongsiej, who is in-charge of Ri Bhoi, said the organisation had written to the managing director of the company seeking explanation but it is yet to receive any reply.

“Now we will be compelled to move the NGT and the High Court”, he said.
According to Nongsiej, the construction work has been going on for two years.
