Shillong, July 29: Meghalaya cabinet minister from the BJP Alexander Laloo Hek has spoken as well as written to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to release the two Catholic nuns arrested in that state.

The Government Railway Police arrested two nuns from Kerala, Preethi Mary and Vandana Francis, at Chhattisgarh’s Durg Railway Station on allegations of human trafficking and forceful conversion. Another person, Sukaman Mandavi, was also arrested.
The arrests have become a major political issue and discussion point in Parliament.
