Shillong, Feb 6: BJP leader and Pynthorumkhrah candidate AL Hek wishes to become the next Chief Minister hoping for a BJP government in the state but his colleague and cabinet minister Sanbor Shullai does not agree to that.
After filing nominations on Monday, Hek told reporters that there will be a double engine government if the BJP is elected to power in Meghalaya as the Centre is already led by the BJP and in that scenario, “I am the chief minister”.
“I am not the one who is declaring as CM candidate as I was appointed by the party as the leader of the election management committee and the leader of the campaigning committee”, Hek said.
However, in response, Sanbor, who also filed the nomination papers, said, “He ( Hek) cannot say that or I cannot say that who will be the chief minister”.
He said the BJP is a national party and everything will be decided by the central leadership.
