Shillong,, Nov 13: The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) has asked the government to speed up the release of the scholarship to the students.
The HITO apprised the Secretary in-charge Education Ambrose Ch Marak on the government’s delay to release the scholarship to the students.
The HITO submitted a memorandum in this regard and said it received several complaints against the delay in the release of the various scholarship schemes to the students in the state.
“Such delays are causing huge inconveniences to the students who are dependent on their scholarships for their school/college fees and book fees for the continuation of their studies,” the organisation said.
It also demanded the department to clarify on the reason behind the delay and whether any steps were taken to address such problems.
