Shillong,Oct 12: The Hynniewptrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) will distribute ‘roses of redemption’ to politicians for their sins committed.
The move is in the wake of use of tear gas by the police on contractual teachers and children who had agitated last week for regularisation of job.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, HITO president Donbok Dkhar said the government had given only guns and tear gas over the years but the organisation will proceed to secretariat and party offices on Friday at 11 am to give the politicians roses of redemption for their sins.
He also sought action against two police personnel involved in using tear gas on the contractual teachers.
“The personnel directly involved are Iban Lyngdoh and Simsang and action should be taken against them”, he said.
When asked about the violation of two orders issued by the district administration resulting in police action against the teachers, Dkhar said if that was the case, the police would have set up barricades to prevent the entry of teachers to the secretariat.
To a question whether the march of HITO towards secretariat, CM’s bungalow and other places will invoke violation of prohibitory order by the district administration, the HITO leader said the organisation is only distributing roses and not resorting to violence.
