
Shillong, Feb 18: Meghalaya police are trying to prevent radicalisation of youths by the banned HNLC.
“The outfit targetted many youths online and many have joined the group in Bangladesh but they returned and surrendered to us later”, a senior police official said on Tuesday

According to the official, the changed political scenario in Bangladesh is conducive for various groups including ULFA, NSCN and the HNLC to hold consultations.
On February 15 , during the sitting of the Unlawful Act Prevention Tribunal headed by the sitting Judge of the Gauhati High Court ,Soumitra Saikia in Shillong, the state provided evidence citing pending cases against the HNLC to continue ban on the group.
