Shillong, July 24: The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) East Khasi Hills wanted the state government to halt new constructions at Them Iew Mawlong and set a deadline for two days.
President of HNYF Shillong City Bless Dkhar told reporters that there are new constructions at Them Iew Mawlong at a time when discussion is on regarding relocation of all settlers.
According to Dkhar, after media reports, they tried to seek clarification from the Shillong Municipal Board and from the Meghalaya Urban Development Agency but in vain.
“Since we have not received any clarification on this matter, we are giving two days’ ultimatum to the state government and all departments concerned to stop the construction in Them Iew Mawlong failing which, we will take stern action may be to an extent of filing FIR” the NGO leader said.
