Shillong, Feb 13: The HNYF, Northern region has raised concerns over the inadequate services at the Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
It sought the intervention of local MLA Mayral Born Syiem to intervene.
The HNYF pointed out the deficiencies such as the trauma center, lack of Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and insufficient specialist doctors.
“The trauma center is functioning only at 60% capacity, despite having the infrastructure in place,” the HNYF said in a letter.
The organisation also expressed concern over prisoners and undertrials being accommodated in general wards, creating insecurity among patients.
“There is a need to provide separate accommodation for such people,” they said
“We request you to kindly direct the concerned department to take action at the earliest,” the letter said.
