Shillong, Mar 26: World Organisation of Students and Youth (WOSY) Meghalaya chapter member Sumarlin L Mawlong (in picture) has said the clash in NEHU between ABVP and NEHUSU during the Holi celebration on March 25 was projected wrongly.
As WOSY organised the event, Sumarlin addressed a press conference on Tuesday to clarify the issue.
Sumarlin alleged unprovoked attack from NEHUSU vice president Easterson Sohtun during the Holi celebration leading to the clash.
According to Sumarlin, Kamlesh Singh, who is a member of ABVP, is a student of NEHU and hence it is not true that outsiders were invited for the event.
After NEHUSU filed an FIR as its vice president was injured, WOSY lodged a counter FIR by saying that it was Easterson and two others who started the fight.
NEHUSU protested against the incident on Tuesday at the University.
