HPC meeting in progress in Assembly
Shillong, May 24: The meeting of the High Power Committee (HPC) to discuss the future course of action on Assembly construction is in progress at the old Assembly, Police Bazar.
The decision on independent probe will be taken in the meeting.
Those who are attending the HPC include Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Opposition Leader Mukul Sangma, PWD (buildings) minister Dasakhiat Lamare, cabinet minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, Deputy Speaker Timothy Shira among others.
Earlier, the Assembly Speaker (in picture) chaired a meeting at the under-construction Assembly building at Mawdiangdiang with the state government officials and representatives from the construction company and design associates to understand the reason behind the damage to the Assembly.
Later, the speaker and Chief Minister who arrived later, inspected the damage site.
