HYC petitions Centre, guv for CBI probe into Saubhagya scheme

Shillong, July 19: The HYC on Tuesday petitioned Governor Satya Pal Malik and union cabinet secretary to institute a CBI probe into the irregularities in the implementation of Saubhagya scheme.

The organisation received the CAG report regarding the matter.

The observations made by the Audit team of the CAG is very serious and cast a doubt on the proper and transparent implementation of the Saubhagya Scheme in the state and hence requires an investigation by the premiere investigative agency in the Country i.e. the CBI exclusively for the Saubhaya Scheme and to initiate appropriate actions as per law against anyone found guilty of an offence, the HYC said.

The HYC wanted the state government to give consent and initiate an inquiry by the CBI into the various irregularities/illegalities in the implementation of the saubhagya scheme.

Scam in printing and stationery 

In a separate letter, the HYC wanted the intervention of the governor to take action against those involved in corruption in printing and stationery department.

There were unauthorised expenditures, irregularities, illegal allotment of works and undue favour to a particular firm (s) under the  directorate of printing and stationery .
